The Multnomah Village Family Dental facility is located in a high-profile location, at the northeast entryway to Portland's quaint Multnomah Village neighborhood. Pistils was commissioned to create a landscape master plan that not only enhanced the aesthetics and functionality of this commercial landscape, but provided an attractive, friendly and accessible entry experience to the Northeast end of the Multnomah Village neighborhood.

The visual and functional centerpiece of the design is a series of expertly crafted, natural stone retaining walls, that create a collection of terraces to manage the steeply sloped landscape along the road. Pistils’ talented stone masons painstakingly chiseled and cut-together several tons of Pacific Northwest native basalt to form tight joints and a series of rustic and handsome, interwoven patterns, from end-to-end.

Atop the natural stone terraces sits a colorful bluestone patio with an outdoor dining table, for use by employees and clients alike.

Rustic steel planters and an elegant steel trellis, custom fabricated by Pistils’ metal smiths, adorn the entryway to the dental facility.

Planting beds between and around the walls feature bright, colorful plantings such as Sedum, lavender, Crepe Myrtle and Kniphofia 'Red Hot Poker.'
